Writing Historical Fiction

 

Writing historical fiction combines non-fiction elements as well as creative endeavor.  

 

Questions:

  1. How do you make a story historically accurate in a fictional setting?  
  2. Name the examples of foreshadowing throughout A Colonial Adventure.
  3. Does humor add to or subtract from the pace and suspense of the story?
  4. What are some techniques you can use to get readers to keep reading the story, chapter by chapter?

Have students create main characters, then write short adventures for classmate's characters.
